Speaker asks govt to give statement on Gujarat encounter

Jammu, Mar 22 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Speaker Tara Chand today directed the Ghulam Nabi Azad government to issue a statement on the encounter that took place at Ahemadabad in Gujarat in which two kashmiri students were killed.

When various members from opposition and ruling coalition raised the issue, the Speaker while saying that the House shares concern of the members regarding the issue, asked the government to give statement in the House stating full details of the incident.

Minister of transport Mangat Ram Sharma while expressing concern over the incident, assured the House that within three days the state government would put up the details of encounter.

The Gujarat police recently gunned down two Kashmiri youth with two Pakistani nationals allegedly suspected terrorists of the Pakistan-based outfit Harkat-ul-Mujaheedin, in a residential complex of Vatva area of Ahmedabad city.
