SC directs DCP and FRRO to communicate reasons

New Delhi, Mar 22 (UNI) The Supreme Court has directed Deputy Commissioner of Police and FRRO, Mumbai, to communicate to petitioner Hasan Ali Raihany the reasons for his deportation from the country.

A bench comprising Justice B P Singh and Justice Almatas Kabir, last week, also directed the competent authorities to give at least two weeks to the petitioner to make a representation against the deportation order.

The petitioner would, however, be given a week to seek legal remedy, if advised.

Meanwhile, the petitioner would continue to report to the Kurla Police station every day and report to police immediately if there was any change of address.

Hasan is claiming that he was born and educated in this country and hence cannot be deported. Earlier, he was deported to Tehran in October last year.
