NABARD cautions combine harvester buyers on subsidy scheme

Chandigarh, Mar 22 (UNI) National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has cautioned the buyers of combine harvesters to be aware of the unscrupulous manufacturers/dealers or middlemen misguiding them about the subsidy under Agriculture Marketing Infrastructure Scheme of NABARD.

Under the scheme, subsidy is sanctioned and released through NABARD for various activities including purchase of combine harvesters, a NABARD release here today stated.

The release stated that it had come to the notice of NABARD that some manufacturers/dealers and unscrupulous middlemen have been selling the material concerning release of subsidy including guidelines at a price of Rs 1000 and misguiding the public that they would get the subsidy sanctioned from NABARD for the combine harvesters under the subsidy scheme. This has been perpetrated in both the states of Haryana and Punjab, the release added.

NABARD has clarified that the scheme is implemented in Punjab, while in Haryana it will be implemented after the amendment of the APMC Act. So the bank has cautioned the public that subsidy under the scheme will be sanctioned strictly in accordance with the guidelines issued by the central government. NABARD will not be responsible for any loss incurred by any person on account of act of the unscrupulous middlemen including manufacturers/dealers of combine harvesters.
