Indian paddlers have it easy in the qualifying rounds
Melbourne, Mar 22 (UNI) Indian peddlers barring one scored easy victories in their league matches of the table tennis competition in the commonwealth Games here today.
The lone player to lose a league match was Shibaji Datta, going down to Brad Chen of New Zealand 1-4 (11-1, 2-11, 8-11, 7-11, 7-11).
Kasturi Chakraborty heralded Indian victory parade for the day when she beat Canada's Wennin Chiu 4-2 (11-7, 4-11, 7-11, 11-3, 11-8, 11-2).
Shamini Kumaresan, who lost her first league match yesterday, won her second match this afternoon beating Trinidad and Tobago's Aleena Edwards 4-1 (6-11, 11-7, 11-4, 13-11, 11-8).
