HOA urges Haryana govt. to honour Seema Antil

Chandigarh, Mar 22 (UNI) Congratulating Seema Antil for winning silver medal in discus throw in the ongoing Commonwealth Games, Haryana Olympic Association (HOA) president Abhey Singh Chautala today urged the state government to felicitate the woman thrower when she returns home from Melbourne.

Chautala, who is also president of the Haryana Amateur Athletic Association, said the association would honour Seema during the Haryana Athletics Championship.

''She has done us proud by winning silver medal with a throw of 60.56 meters. Seema Antil has brought laurels to the country as well as Haryana. She deserves honour at a public function,'' said Abhey Chautala here.

HOA secretary general Mahinder Singh Malik also praised the discus thrower. ''She has all the talent and potential to become world champion provided she gets all financial and other supports from all, especially from the state government,'' Malik said.
