HC transfers former Haryana DGPs case to CBI court at Patiala

Chandigarh, Mar 22 (UNI) The Punjab and Haryana High Court today ordered the transfer of the hearing of a case against former Haryana director general police (DGP) S P S Rathore from the special CBI judge Ambala, to the special CBI judge, Patiala.

The case has been launched after the investigations by the CBI on the directions of the high court. Panchkula-based tennis player Ruchika Girhotra had allegedly committed suicide after sexual harassment by Rathore.

Rathore had sought the transfer arguing that relations between his family and that of Garg existed for a long time and it might be interpreted by the opponents as possible influence on the hearing and the outcome.
