Former ADG denied bail in MSD scam

Patna, Mar 22 (UNI) Special CBI judge of Patna Jawahar Prasad Ratnesh today rejected the aniticipatory bail petition of a former Additional Director General of Government Medical Store Depot (MSD), Kolkata, Randhir Mandal in a case of MSD scam.

The designated judge also refused to grant anticipatory bail to medical officer Dr Dilip Kumar Mahto in the same case.

The case was related to irregularities committed in purchase of medicines to the tune of Rs 3.50 crore in Rohtas district from GMSD, Kolkata. Chargesheet had already been submitted by CBI in the case against ten people on November 30, 2005.

Meanwhile, the judge, Mr Prasad, refused to grant anticipatory bail to a former area manager of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Patna, in a case of fraudulent withdrawal of more than Rs 18 lakh from PGMT office of BSNL, Patna, on the basis of fake bills in from 2002 to 2003.
