50 injured, 30 houses gutted as oil tanker overturns

Malda, Mar 22 (UNI) At least 50 people received burn injuries and 30 houses were gutted when an oil tanker overturned in Sahapur Gram Panchayat area and oil spilled to nearby Kadirpur village here.

Three fire tenders along with water tanker from BSF's Narayanpur post were rushed to the spot.

Police said the injured persons, including some fire brigade personnel, have been hospitalised.

The oil tanker was on way to Pakuahat when the incident occured after the tyre of the vehicle got flattened, they added.
