Kohima, Mar 21: Opposition Congress today demanded an unconditional apology from Nagaland Industries and Commerce Minister H Khekiho Zhimomi for the using the word ''generosity'' during the question hour that led to adjournment of the house.

Replying to a question on the announcement of the Nagaland Industrial Developmental committee report, Mr Zhimomi said it depended on ''the generosity of the minister'' to submit the committee report in the table of the house.

That invited a heated debate between Mr Zhimomi and leader of Opposition I Imkong and Deputy Speaker E E Pangtean which led to adjournment of the house for more than 15 minutes.

Opposition members also stalled the proceedings of the house by standing on their seats.

State Urban Development Minister Shurhozelie started reading the proviso of the zero hour, causing the Opposition members to be engaged in heated arguments.

Later Mr Zhomomi withdrew his remark and was ready to submit the report of the committee by Thursday, which pacified the Congress members.
