MIG crashes in Barmer, pilot killed

Jaisalmer, Mar 21 (UNI) An Indian Air Force MIG fighter plane crashed this afternoon in Barmer district, killing the pilot.

The accident occured in Kannot village in Baitu tehsil around 1630 hrs.

The plane had taken off from Barmer's Uttarlai airport. Fire engulfed the plane minutes after it went into the air. It crashed immediately and its pieces were scattered over an area of two-three km.

The Air Force has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
