Hurriyat rejects LoC as permanent border

Srinagar Mar 21 (UNI) Rejecting the idea of converting the Line of Control (LoC) into a permanent border, the All Party Hurriyat Conference (Omar) said lasting peace in the sub-continent will remain a distant dream until the Kashmir issue is resolved.

Reacting to the statement of National Security Advisor M K Narayan an that the LoC should be converted into a permanent border, a spokesman of the HC said Kashmir was not a border dispute between India and Pakistan.

'' Such an idea was against historical reality,'' he said, adding the people of the state will never accept LoC as permanent border.

It was because of this line that people living on both sides of Kashmir are not able to meet each other, the spokesman said.
