64 Bangladeshis deported to homeland
Barrackpore, Mar 12: Delhi police brought 64 Bangladeshi nationals, including women and children, in the city today (Mar 12, 2006) to deport them to their homeland through Ghojadanga border in North 24 Parganas.
Delhi police had earlier arrested the Bangladeshis working as labourers and living in the Simapuri area of the capital.
They have been prosecuted under the Foreigners Act, a member of the police team escorting the Bangladeshi group said.
The group was brought by train via Naihati this morning.
The Bangladeshis were the inhabitants of Khulna, one of the group told sources here.
