Trinamool Cong to support AIADMK in TN polls
Chennai, Mar 11: The Tamil Nadu Unit of the All India Trinamool Congress has decided to extend support to the ruling AIADMK combine in the May 8 elections to the State Assembly.
Mr C K Soman and Mr George, Party State President and Treasurer respectively, told newsmen here today soon after their state executive that a resolution to the effect was adopted at the meeting, which called upon the people of Tamil Nadu to vote for Ms Jayalalithaa-led combine and make her the Chief Minister again.
They said the executive constituted a six-member election committee under the leadership of State Vice President M Kandasamy and State Women Wing Leader U Manimekalai to coordinate the election propaganda work with the AIADMK combine.
The meeting hoped Ms Jayalalithaa would invite them for discussions on electioneering for the May elections to the Assembly.
It also appealed to the Congress High Command to join the political front under the leadership of Trinamool Congress Founder President Mamta Banarjee to unseat the Left party government in West Bengal.
In an another resolution, the meeting appealed to the Kerala Government to implement the Supreme Court's judgement on raising the storage level of Mullaiperiyar Dam.
