Three guards attacked; 1 killed, another in coma
New Delhi, Mar 11: Assailants attacked three security guards in different incidents Gandhi Nagar area of East Delhi today within a span of ten hours, leading to the death of one.
While one of them, Niranjan Thakur (31), was found killed in a vacant plot in Tagore Lane of Gandhi Nagar with his hands and feet tied, another guard (Bablu Jha- 21) deployed in Savitri Gali of the same area was admitted to the hospital in a state of coma after he was found in a pool of blood at about 0400 hrs, according to sources.
Earlier, in Gandhi Nagar's Ashok Gali, another guard Mohammad Hosnail Ansari (20) was attacked by two rod-weilding youths at about 0230 hrs. He received injuries on his face and chest. However, he was relieved after first aid.
Following the third attack on Niranjan Thakur at about 1200 hrs, police officers reached the spot and inspected the area.
They said as no robbery or theft had taken place, the likey motive could be to spread terror in the area.
Bablu Jha has been admitted to the hospital and is in a coma officials added.
