Priyadarshini Academy announces literary awards
Mumbai, Mar 11: The Priyadarshini Academy today announced its 22nd anniversary literary awards for the year 2006 to five prominent riters in Hindi, Marathi, Sindhi and Gujarati languages, to be presented at a function here on March 22.
In a release here, Academy Chairman Nanik Rupani said the awards will be presented to Dr Jitendra Bhatia (Hindi), Kavita Mahajan (Marathi), Dr Arjan Sikayal (Sindhi) and Dr Naresh Ved (Gujarati), besides a special award in Gujarati to Chandulal Selarka.
Maharashtra Minister for Finance and Planning Jayantrao Patil will preside over the March 22 function, in which noted industrialist Keshub Mahindra will be the chief guest.
Each of the award carries a cash prize of Rs 25,000 and a trophy.
