MARD strike called off
Mumbai, Mar 10 (UNI) The strike of over 3,000 resident doctors of Maharashtra was finally called off after late night negotiations between medical education minister Dilip Walse-Patil and striking doctors and Government officials.
Maharashtra association Resident Doctors (MARD) President Dr Yoganand Patil told UNI that resident doctor would be given a stipend of Rs 12,500/- to 13,500 as per the assurance.
He further said all the doctors would return to their jobs from tomorrow morning.
The strike started on February 27, after an incident of assaulting a doctor by the patient's relative. The striking doctors received response from their fraternity in the state as well as the nation.
