New Delhi, Mar 11: The Lok Sabha today approved by a voice vote and without debate the Appropriation Bill (Railways) for 2006-07 authorising the government to withdraw more than Rs 1,07,980 crore from the Consolidated Fund of India.

The Bill was moved by Railway Minister Lalu Prasad soon after Zero Hour in the House.

With this legislative business, the process relating to the passing of the Railway Budget is complete.

Before the presentation of the Bill, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi moved a motion on suspension of the discussion on the Demands for Grants relating to the Railway Budget and the General Budget. This, too, was approved by the Lok Sabha by a voice vote.
