Five people, including three labourers drowned in Karnataka

Bangalore, Mar 11 (UNI) Five people, including three labourers,were drowned and 12 others injured in two different places in Karnataka last night.

Police said that three labourers drowned and 12 others injured when a tractor, in which they were traveling overturned and fell into the Narayanapura Right Bank canal in Lingsur Taluk in the district, police said today.

The injured, who swam to safety, were admitted to the government hospital at Lingasur, police added.

According to a Mysore report, two people drowned in a tank when water entered their boat while fishing in a tank in the outskirts of Periyapatna Village in the District last evening.

The deceased were identified as Girish (24) and Shankar (26).

Another person swam to safety.
