Enforcement directorate interrogates Shahabuddin

Bhagalpur(Bihar), Mar 11 (UNI) A team from the Enforcement Directorate today interrogated incarcerated RJD MP Mohammad Shahabuddin in connection with the recovery of foreign currency during a raid at his residence in 2005.

Superintendent of Bhagalpur central jail N P Singh said a three- member team of Enforcement dirctorate of Kolkata interrogated the RJD MP for 45 minutes inside the jail premises.

The team led by Assistant Director A K Murmu sought specific information from the RJD leader about the recovery of 7600 US dollar and 4000 Dirham from his residence during a raid conducted by local police on April 24, 2005.

Mohammad Shahabuddin had reportedly clarified before the interrogation team that he had visited several countries and he could not exchange some of the foreign currencies into Indian currencies that were recovered from his Pratappur residence in Siwan.
