Doctor killed in accident in Shimla

Shimla, Mar 11 (UNI) One person was killed and another seriously injured after their vehicle rolled down into a gorge at Huli in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh late last night, police today said.

Speeding was the cause of the accident, which occurred at about 2300 hrs.

Police said the accident occurred after the driver failed to negotiate a sharp curve at Huli in the district.

The deceased was identified as Beant Singh, a doctor at the Deen Dayal Upadhya Hospital here.

Police said Singh was returning to Shimla after attending a medical camp at Rohru when the accident occurred.

The driver was admitted to a government at Theog, police said.

Singh's body was handed over to his relatives after post mortem examination at Theog, police added.
