Chidambaram to inaugurate Corporation Bank's Public Library

Mangalore, Mar 11 (UNI) Union Minister for Finance P Chidambaram will inaugurate tomorrow the Corporation Bank Centenary Public Library constructed at a cost Rs Two Crore as part of Bank's centenary year, Bank Chairman and Managing Director V K Chopra said today.

Addressing a press conference here, he said that Mr Chidambaram would also attend the valedictory of the year long centenary celebrations in which the Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy would be chief guest.

He said that the state of the art library has the facilities like video conferencing, internet browsing and lending section, in the initial state the library would have 4000 printed books of varied interest and 4000 CD and DVD. The Bank had also successfully completed the first phase of commissioning 25 village libraries, 15 in the state of Karnataka and seven in Andhra Pradesh and three in Tamil Nadu, he added.

Mr Chopra said that the bank's turnover was targeted to cross Rs 55,000 crores by the end of the current financial year and it has already reached Rs 52,000 crores.

He said that RBI approval awaited for opening a sub office at Dubai.
