Car thieves held in Kerala
Thrissur, Kerala, Mar 11 (UNI) The police arrested a four-member gang of car thieves from Patturaikkal here today.
The arrests were made after blocking a stolen Maruti car in which they were travelling.
The arrested were identified as Sunil (34), Pradosh(28),Girish(29) and Manoj(31), hailing from Thrissur district. Another member of the gang managed to escape.
Police said the gang leader, Sunil, was an accused in 30 cases and released only six months ago from the jail.
The gang had stolen 15 vehicles from various parts of Kerala in five months. Four cars were recovered by the police.
The gang used to sell the stolen cars in Tamil Nadu for Rs 35,000 to Rs one lakh, they added.
