BJP to field strong candidate against Azad
Jammu, Mar 11 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir unit of the BJP will field a strong candidate in Bhaderwah assembly constituency from where Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad will contest a by-election as Congress candidate.
Party's state Vice President and spokesperson Dr Hariom here told UNI the name of the candidate has not been decided as yet, but the party's state executive will meet soon to decide and recommend it to the central leadership for approval. ''We will put up a strong candidate and won't let the Congress have a cake walk, which is our main political opponent.'' Addressing a press conference here, he said party president Rajnath Singh will visit the city on April one and address a rally at Parade Ground and will highlight the ''anti-people'' policies of the Congress-led government at the Centre. He will also touch on issues relating to demilitarisation, self-rule, autonomy and alleged discrimination against Jammu region.
