Babbar says people will teach lesson to ''brokers'' in politics
Bulandshahr, UP, Mar 11 (UNI) Continuing his tirade against ''brokers disguised as politicians,'' suspended Samajwadi Party MP from Agra and noted actor Raj Babbar today asserted the people would teach a befitting lesson to such individuals in elections.
Talking to mediapersons here, he observed that ''power-hungry politicians'' tend to forget that their chances of gaining power were in the hands of the people.
He castigated the present ''upheavel in politics'' and termed it as detrimental to national polity and development.
The actor was accompanied by newly elected Congress MP from Mumbai Priya Dutt, the daughter of late Union Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Sunil Dutt.
He said the ideologies of Mahatma Gandhi and Ram Manohar Lohia were confined to text books, while money had become the focal point in public life.
Taking at dig at SP general secretary Amar Singh, Mr Babbar claimed that brokers had become active in politics and were making crores of rupees.
''I have raised my voice against this broker culture in politics and one day this will reverberate as the voice of the public,'' he asserted.
The Agra MP said he was not planning to join any other party.
