AICC exhorts cadre to work for party's victory in election
Pondicherry, Mar 11(UNI) AICC Secretary in-charge of Pondicherry B K Hariprasad has called on the Congress party caders not to feel disappointed, if an aspirant could not get the party ticket to contest the May three and eight assembly elections in the Union Territory.
Addressing a public meeting here last night at the culmination of a massive rally organised by the Youth Congress, he said the local body elections would soon be held here and the caders would get an opportunity to contest.
Soeaking on the occasion Chief Minister N Rangasamy said the Congress Government had fullfilled the promises given in the election manifesto, barring holding of panchayat elections and obtaining special category status for Pondicherry.
Mr Rangasamy said the pending promises would be fullfilled, if the party was elected to power in the ensuing poll.
The Pradesh Congress Committee(PCC) President P Shanmugham exhorted the caders to be prepared to act as per the directions of Sonia Gandhi.
Mr Shanmugham said the Congress party would assist in whatever possible manner for the development of Union Territory.
AICC General Secretary V Narayanasamy also spoke on the occasion.
