37 died of malaria in a year
Ranchi, Mar 11: A total of 37 people died of malaria and another 17 of other suspected dieases during 2005-06 in Jharkhand, an official report said.
As part of anti-malaria drive, authorities have sprayed DDT in the malaria affected areas.
During the first phase in 2005, DDT was sprayed in 10831 villages and in another 7121 villages in the second phase of the year,it said.
Under the drive, the Central Government had provided medicines and mosquito nets for people in the affected areas, the report added.
