Varanasi blasts: security tightened in Bangalore
Bangalore, Mar 7: Security has been tightened in the city as a precautionary measure following the twin blasts in the pilgrim city of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh this evening (Mar 7, 2006).
City Police Commissioner Ajay Kumar Singh told UNI that more resources had been mobilised to step up security in the city.
Besides, patrolling had also been intensified and all vehicles entering the city checked, he added.
Mr Singh also held an emergency meeting with top police officials on the security measures immediately after the blasts that took place in a temple and railway station in Varanasi.
