Centre to approve Bangalore Metro Rail project soon

Bangalore, Mar 5: The Union Government was expected to give its approval to the Bangalore Metro Rail project soon, Union Minister of State for Planning M V Rajashekhar said today.

Talking to newspersons here, he said the project should have obtained the necessary approval by now but for the delay due to shifting Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad from the Urban Development portfolio to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister.

''We have to submit the project details to the new Minister again. But, I am sure the project will get all clearances from the Centre very soon,'' Mr Rajashekhar exuded confidence.

To a question, he said he was making all out efforts to get classical language status to Kannada.
