Workshop on gender violence in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Mar 02: Maulana Azad National Urdu University centre for women studies and the Andhra Pradesh Police Academy is jointly organising a two-day workshop on 'strategies to deal with gender violence' on March 6 and 7 at the university campus.

According to a press release here, Director of the Centre for women studies Prof Rekha Pande said gender violence was of great concern and the aim of the workshop would be to establish a victim support service and prepare a list of different organisations that could provide support to the victims.

She said the resolution of the meeting would be sent to differnet departments of the government dealing with women issues for making policy and adopting appropriate proactive measures.
