Investcom awards Ericsson Afghan GSM order
STOCKHOLM, Mar 2 (Reuters) Middle Eastern telecoms company Investcom said on Thursday it had awarded a contract for a GSM network in Afghanistan to Swedish telecom equipment maker Ericsson.
The order included infrastructure and services to support the development of Investcom's GSM 900 and 1800 network in the country, the firm said in a statement.
Investcom was awarded one of two licenses to operate mobile telecom services in Afghanistan last year. No financial details were disclosed.
