India disappointed over restrictions on Indian art

Written by: Staff

New Delhi, Mar 02: India today (Mar 02, 2006) expressed disappointment over the restrictions Pakistan places on the visit of Indian artistes, saying there have been no indication of changes in this policy so far.

"Government of Pakistan follows an extremely restrictive visa policy towards Indian cultural personalities and artistes for performances in Pakistan", Minister of State for External Affairs E Ahamed told the Rajya Sabha here.

He said the restrictions were there despite no official ban existing on the performances of Indian artistes in that country.

"No change has been noticed in this policy", said the Minister.
