Five arrested for fomenting communal trouble
Panaji, Mar 2 (UNI) Police have arrested five people for allegedly demolishing a religious structure and causing injuries to people who tried to prevent the demolition at Goddmol-Sanvordem village panchayat in South Goa last night.
District Superintendent of Police S M Prabhudesai told UNI that the police was on the look-out for two more people who have been named in the FIR. The situation in the village, meanwhile, is well under control now, he said.
Miscreants allegedly damaged the structure late last night after the other community got a stay order from the Directorate of Panchayats against a panchayat directive for its demolition last evening.
