In a release here today, ESC said the MoU signed yesterday confirmed that the common desire of the ESC and NHZ was to maintain and further mutual cooperation and understanding for the purpose of promoting the development of business relations between India and Nanjing Municipal People's Government in the field of Information Technology.

The cooperation would be in areas such as Exchange of Information, Receiving Incoming Delegations to promote their Business Missions, Assistance in Trade Fair Participation, Buyer-Seller Meets, Organise/Participate Seminars and Workshops and advisory Services on Industry Status and Prospects.

Welcoming the delegation Mr P K Sandell, Co Chairman, China India Software Association (CISA), stressed that in the decade 2000 there were new challenges for cooperation between IT industries of the two countries. The emphasis should not only be on investment by individual companies in both the countries, but also on joint operation for exploring the global market, not just the domestic markets of the two countries, he said.
