EC imposes ban on transfer of officials in poll-bound states

New Delhi, Mar 2 (UNI) The Election Commission today imposed a ban on the transfer of all officers/officials concerned with the conduct of elections in five states going to polls next month.

In a communication to the Chief Secretaries of Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Pondicherry, the Commission also said that model code of conduct has come into force and the Government or Ministers should not make any announcement relating with financial grants in any form.
