Blast kills two, wounds seven in Baghdad market

BAGHDAD, March 2: A blast today tore through a market in southeastern Baghdad killing two people and wounding seven, police said.

There was no immediate word on the cause of the explosion.

Since bombs destroyed a Shi'ite shrine in Samarra on February 22, at least 450 people have been killed in sectarian violence, according to even the most cautious estimates from officials playing down the crisis.
