General Motors announces 3.6 pc sales growth

New Delhi, Mar 2: Automobile company, General Motors yesterday (Mar 1, 2006) announced a 3.6 per cent growth in sales during February 2006 over the corresponding month last year.

A company release here said, it has achieved sales of 1709 vehicles during February 2006 comprising 1368 units of Chevrolet Tavera and 34 1 units of Chevrolet Optra, against a total of 1650 in February 2005 (comprising 1300 units of Chevrolet Tavera and 350 units of Chevrolet Optra).

"The sales of Chevrolet Tavera and Chevrolet Optra are to our satisfation and going forward. The market will see a lot of excitement with out Chevrolet Brand. We have launched our mid sized sedan the Chevrolet Aveo and have showcased our hatchback, Chevrolet Aveo U-va and the contemporary sportsback- the Chevrolet Optra SRV both of which are being launched shortly," General Motors India Vice President P Balendran said.

General Motors India is a wholly-owned subsidiary of General Motors Corporation.
