Attempt to burn effigy of Bush foiled

Tiruchirapalli, Mar 2 (UNI) Police arrested three members of All India Youth Federation (AIYF), when they attempted to burn the effigy of US President George Bush near a private college here today.

Police said the three-- Durai Raj, District Secretary, Guna Singh, Town Secretary and functionary of AIYF Simion Selvaraj were arrested by the Fort Police and seized the effigy from them.

The AIYF members resorted to the agitation in protest against the visit of Mr Bush to India.
