TVS two-wheelers clock 16 per cent growth in Feb'06

New Delhi, Mar 1 (UNI) Two-wheeler company TVS Motors today announced a 16 per cent growth in motorcycle sales during February 2006, compared to the corresponding period last year.

The company sold 66,391 units in February 2006 against 57,009 units in February 2005, TVS Motors said in a statement here.

The strong growth in motorcycles pushed total two wheeler sales in February 2006 to 1,08,923 units compared to 96,020 units recorded last year.

With the launch of TVS Apache, the company expects to conclude this year with a growth of 18 per cent in motorcycle sales, it said.

In scooters, different variants of TVS Scooty sold 16,052 units in February 2006 compared to 15,900 units in the corresponding period last year.

On the export front, TVS continued with its growth trend exporting 6,007 vehicles in February 2006, a growth of 73 per cent compared to the corresponding period in the previous year.

TVS Motor Company Ltd is the flagship company of the 2.7 billion dollar TVS Group and is the third largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the country.
