SVC to set up centre for diaster management

Tirupati, Mar 1 (UNI) Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) is contemplating to establish a centre for disaster management, a course on remote sensing and disaster management and Ham radio training centre at the varsity, Organising Secretary of the two-day session on disaster management Dr S Vijaya Bhaskara Rao has said.

After the concluding session yesterday, Dr Rao said the decision was taken by the University Vice-Chancellor Dr S Jayarama Reddy following discussions with several experts, who attended the brain storming session.

During the meeting, the Vice Chancellor asked the experts to submit a detailed report with valubale suggestions regarding the course, he said adding that the courses mostly would be started at the university from the next academic year.
