Sugar prices crash on large stocks supply by mills

Navi Mumbai, Mar 1 (UNI) The wholesale sugar prices today suffered a major setback on sustained heavy offers by stockists in view of large stocks arrivals from mills, traders said.

Meanwhile, the rates of small and medium grades declined by Rs eight and Rs ten per quintal respectively on lack of fresh buying support by local bulk consumers in view of sufficient stocks supply by mills.

The rates of ex-mill, small and medium grades also slipped by Rs ten each per quintal in line with wholesale prices, traders added.

Following were the sugar spot rates per quintal: Small grade Rs 1,880/1,926, medium grade Rs 1,900/1,956.

Ex-mill small grade Rs 1,850/1,878, medium grade Rs 1,890/1,920.
