Rs one lakh looted from bank

Jalandhar, Mar 1(UNI) Four armed assailants today looted around Rs one lakh from a bank branch in Maqsudan area after injurying the guard.

A police spokesman said here that the robbers stormed into the Bank of Punjab, Maqsudan branch at around 1330 hours.They fired at the security guard, snatched the cash from the cashier at gun point and fled with the booty in a car.

The injured guard was rushed to the hospital, the spokesman said.
