Kerala demands more trains and a Railway Zone
New Delhi, Mar 1 (UNI) The two Union Ministers from Kerala and three Members of Parliament from the State today appealed to Railway Minister Lalu Prasad to sanction a Railway Zone to Kerala and a daily train between Ernakulam and Bangalore.
They also demanded an express train or a Garib Rath train from Delhi to Thiruvananthapuram, and a train from Goa to Ernakulam.
The representation given by Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi, Minister of State for External Affairs E Ahamed, and Rajya Sabha Members Thennala Balakrishna Pillai and Abdul Samad Samadhani said they were disappointed as they were expecting more from the Railway Budget.
However, they appreciated the introduction of two trains between Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram,increase of frequency of the Bangalore-Ernakulam train and allocation for completing the electrification and doubling of certain lines in the State.
