CPI(M) leader arrested for committing murder in 2000

Cooch Behar, Mar 1 (UNI) A local court today remanded to 14 days judicial custody, CPI(M) worker Santen Roy, arrested last night, for his alleged involvement in the murder of a BJP leader in 2000.

The BJP leader was shot dead during the Gram Panchayat elections held in 2000.

The counsel of the arrested prayed for bail but the court refused.
