CBI registers case in LDA land allotment case irregularities
New Delhi, Mar 1 (UNI) The CBI has registered a case against the alleged irregularities in the Janakipuram Scheme of the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA).
The case was registered on the directions of the Allahabad High Court which asked the CBI to probe the case after several employees of the LDA, suspended by the Uttar Pradesh government for their alleged involvement in the land scam, filed a petition.
About 123 plots under the Janakipuram Scheme of the LDA had been allotted by officers below the rank of Vice-Chairman, who alone was authorised to do so, to those who had neither filled the requisite form or deposited the application fee and pocketed at least Rs two crore.
Even amounts on the challans had been inflated through forgery and land meant for parks allotted, the CBI alleged.
