Budget signals continuity: Schubert

Mumbai, Mar 1 (UNI) Siemen's Managing Director J Schubert welcoming the Union Budget said the signals continuity and the initiatives in uplifting the rural economy is imperative for India's sustained growth in the long term.

''The proposals to set up five mega power projects, reforms in transmission and distribution as well as enhancing rural electrification, are steps that would specifically benefit our power businesses,'' Mr Schubert said adding that the plan to augment teledensity, supports to the company's telecom carrier business.

Similarly, the continued thrust on national health is a positive step impacting its healthcare business while the government's emphasis on the manufacturing sector is a welcome move and would boost the industry segment in which Siemens is a key player, he added.
