Buddhadeb Bhattacherjee leaves for Vietnam tomorrow

Kolkata, Mar 1: West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacherjee will leave for Vietnam tomorrow on a three-day visit.

According to a tentative programme, Mr Bhattacherjee, who is leaving for Ho Chi Minh city via Bangkok tomorrow night, will take part in a programme organised by the Ho Chi Minh city Peoples' Council the next day.

Before returing Mr Bhattacherjee, being accompanied by a small business delegation, is likely to visit the famous Tan Tao Industrial Park and the Qaung Trung Software zone in Ho Chi Minh city.

Besides meeting some top political leaders in that country, he is likely to squeeze in some time for members of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Vietnam Agricultural Council to ascertain whether similar models could be adopted in the state's agricultural sector.

This is the first foreign visit of the Chief Minister this year after undertaking three successful business tours to Italy,Indonesia and Singapore last year which already ensured Foreign Direct Investment to the tune of more than Rs 2,000 crores.

Mr Bhattacherjee is scheduled to return here on March five.
