Azad announces judicial probe into Handwara killings
Jammu, Mar 1 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today announced in the assembly that a judicial inquiry had been ordered into the Handwara incident in which four youth were killed allegedly by the Army.
Accepting the demand of the opposition for a judicial probe into the killings, the Chief Minister told the House that the government was making all efforts to ensure that incidents of human rights violation did not occur.
Mr Azad said although a magisterial inqury was on, the government had decided to hold judicial probe to send out a positive message to the massess.
