1,600 die in robberies, murders during 2003-06

New Delhi, Mar 1 (UNI) Nearly 1,600 people were killed in robbery and murder cases in the capital in the last three years.

The figure, reported by the Delhi Police, covers the period between 2003 and 2006 (January-end) and includes all the nine districts of Delhi, Crime and Railways, Special Cell and three police stations of IGI Airport, Palam and Mahipalpur.

Besides improving the patrolling system and multi-tasking of PCRs, police have established Mobile Crime Teams with sophisticated weapons for round-the-clock deployment to check crime.
