Clarify Arunachal's inclusion in China map: Gao
Itanagar, Feb 25: Lok Sabha MP Tapir Gao has flayed the Centre over inclusion of Arunachal Pradesh in China's map.
Taking part in discussion on motion of thanks to the President's address in Lok Sabha yesterday, Gao, who represents Arunachal East constituency, said the 'blunder' of Arunachal's depiction as part of Tibetan Autonomous Region (TAR) under China should be clarified as the neighbouring country had claimed the state as disputed territory last year, sources informed here today.
Expressing resentment over no mention of North East in the President's address despite being represented by three ministers, he said, ''How are they bearing the treatment meted out to NE?'' NE was neglected by the UPA government in civil aviation and telecommunication fields, he said, pointing out that there was no airport in Arunachal and the telecommunication service was 'dismal'.
He criticised the Centre for no hike in fund allocation to North East Council despite inclusion of Sikkim and the on-going Indo-Bangla border fencing.
