Women contract workers sexually abused in HAL, alleges Assn

Bangalore, Feb 24 (UNI) Alleging widespread sexual abuse of temporary women workers in Hindustan Aeronautics Limited here, the Casual and Contract Workers Association of the public sector company has decided to agitate in front of HAL administrative office on February 27.

In a statement here, Association President S Balan charged some officials with seeking sexual favour as they were in charge of duty allocation, transfer, leave and removal from service of the over 1,000 women contract workers. Those women who spurned the advances were subjected to harassment.

Listing out incidents, he accused the management of hushing up the matter and refusing to initiate penal and disciplinary proceedings against the erring officials.
